Desperate Paws of Orange County Dog Club is a Free Not-For-Profit Club which promotes Bonding between the PARENTS and the PAWS through fun activities and outings as well as Dog Welfare and Advocacy. 55% of every home in this country has a PAW as a Cherished Family Member and yet we only see a small percentage of those PAWS out in public with their PARENTS.
Our Mission is to get the PARENTS and the PAWS out of the house together and enjoying life. PAWS are just like us; social creatures. They crave, desire and deserve social interactions with other PAWS and PARENTS to meet all their needs, which includes shelter, diet, physical exercise, mental stimulation and socialization. To achieve these goals we hold many Beach Outings, Bark Park Trips, Hiking, Restaurant and Happy Hour Pawties, Camping Trips, Paw Classes, Paw Expos, Pawventure Vacations and More!

organizer@desperatepawsofocdogclub.org Kelly Lindgren is a computer programmer by trade but her most important job is Mom to two wonderful boys and four lovable PAWS. With her two-legged children off to college, she was looking for things that her dogs (Whiskey and Lucy) and she could do together and that’s when she joined D.P.O.C. Dog Club. Through the Dog Club, she was introduced to Betty’s Boot Camp for Dogs and Humans. With Betty’s help, she is hoping that her dogs will soon pass the AKC Canine Good Citizen Test and that she can then move on to the next level so that they may eventually become therapy dogs. She knows how much her dogs have helped her and she would love to share that with others. Contact at
kelly@desperatepawsofocdogclub.orgMelissa Lim - Asst. Organizer and Adoption Advocate of Desperate Paws of Orange County Dog Club. Mrs. Lim is a high school teacher, wife to her loving husband Lee and a PAW Mom to her dear “Kona Bear”. She has had a deep affection for dogs since she was a little girl. After marrying her “Marine” husband, in July of 2010, the search was on for a great PAW. They both decided to foster a dog and luckily for everyone involved they found Kona, from
“Pups and Pals” in Orange County. They soon realized they would become “Foster Failures” and formally adopted Kona in November of 2010. She joined the Dog Club in November of 2010, as a way to find fun activities to help socialize Kona Bear, and a deep appreciation for the club had quickly grown. Her hopes and goals are to unite shelter dogs with military Veterans to help them bond and repair wounds, while saving a life and getting a tremendous new loyal friend like her and her husband have found in Kona. She will also be helping to expand the Dog Club into L.A. County to keep a good thing growing and creating a “Better World for more PARENTS and their PAWS”! Contact at
