Calling all PARENTS & PAWS, Desperate Paws of Orange County Dog Club is pleased to announce our new WAGS & WAVES WEDNESDAYS is here. This will be a great Beach Outing for all our PARENTS and their PAWS to have some fun in the Sun, Sand, Surf, River, and to WAG Goodbye to WEDNESDAY! It is also a great way to break up your week and beat the Summer Heat with other PARENTS and their PAWS!!
This will be a reoccurring Outing on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of every month through August.
This is a great Locals PAW Favorite Beach in Newport where the mouth of the Santa Ana River joins the Pacific Ocean. It is a fantastic place to try and get your PAW swimming as the River has no waves and there is a large sandbar in the middle of the river for our PARENTS & PAWS to run and play on. Also for those more adventurous PAWS they get to swim in the Ocean too.
Fresh filtered water will be available for the PAWS courtesy of the Critter Cooler donated for the club's use by Critter Concepts. PAW Treats will also be available as well for the PAWS. Bring some PARENT food too if you like and enjoy your evening on the Sand.
Parking is both Free and Metered so bring some quarters in case you can not find any free parking.
You can find us on the Sand beside the River. The Blue Awning will be up with the Dog Club Banner attached. We hope that all PARENTS & their PAWS can attend.
UPDATE!!! Going North on PCH turn left on Orange St. (the last signal light before going over the bridge that crosses the Santa Ana River). Turn right at the Stop Sign on Seashore Dr. Follow until you deadend at the Santa Ana River which is Summit St. You may park along Seashore Dr. for Free or in the parking lot on the right hand side which is Metered. If you walk down Summit St. the beach access will be on your right hand side and we will be there with the blue awning and dog club banner.

The weather was so nice yesterday. The beach was overtaken by the water because the tide was high but the PAWS didn't care. They really had a great time playing together and fetching balls!! Thank you Mary for bringing more balls out for them to play with. I think we need to by stock in Tennis Balls...hehehehe! We enjoyed talking and hanging out with all who attended and hope that as the weather gets warmer, as summer approaches, that more PARENTS and their PAWS will come out and enjoy this wonderful Dog Beach with us.
My dogs had a blast! My puppy swam for the first time. I'm not sure if the PFD gave her extra confidence, or maybe it was the lack of waves... Maybe it was the labs swimming... but it was a good, positive experience for them!

THE DESPERATE PAWS OF ORANGE COUNTY DOG CLUB'S "PAW IT FORWARD" CAMPAIGN benefits Local Needy and Adoptable Dogs by funding Special Adoption Events in our community. This Club is so much more than just a place to have a great time with our PAWS but also through the Club's joint efforts with Local Businesses, Agencies, Dog Welfare Groups and County Officials we have been able to positively affect the lives of many more deserving PAWS who are not as fortunate to have wonderful PARENTS like our PAWS do.
DESPERATE PAWS OF ORANGE COUNTY DOG CLUB, its Efforts, Activities and Programs have been recognized by the following. Here is what they had to say:
"O.C. Animal Care has benefited greatly from our relationship with Desperate Paws of O.C. Dog Club and we are looking forward to the B.A.R.K 4 Kids program. As Orange County’s largest animal shelter, we see firsthand the lack of education in our community through the number of animals that come to our shelter lacking identification, proper care, and proper behavioral training. Through programs like this, and the wonderful volunteers in our community like Desperate Paws of O.C. Dog Club, we hope to further our cause of educating our younger community in responsible pet ownership and a higher respect for the animals we work so hard to protect." - Ryan Drabek, Director of O.C. Animal Care
THE NEEDY PAWS APPRECIATE ANY AND ALL DONATIONS!
We ask that you please read the D.P.O.C. DOG CLUB'S FAQs to answer any potential questions that you may have about the club. Thank You!
***In keeping with our Mission Statement, and Singleness of Purpose, there are times when Brandi and I feel that some people will join the Club to promote other activities or business ventures not in-line with the Club's Purpose. Therefore we feel it is essential to keep the Club's Mission Clear which is to promote Quality Time for bonding between PARENTS and their PAWS in fun social activities, while giving back to our Local Needy PAW Community. If you are joining for any other reason, please be advised you are joining the wrong Club....
