ROAD TRIP TO FIESTA ISLAND

We will be meeting at Hennesseys in Dana Point for a nice breakfast and then caravan down to the Fiesta Island to let the dogs out!

Fiesta Island in San Diego is quite a unique experience for the Paws. The entire island is off-leash where they can run, play and swim.

Here is a video of Fiesta Island.

More Details to come as the date approaches. We hope to have a super fun day on the Island and in San Diego too. Hope to see you all there.

This trip will be cancelled if there is bad weather.

@annette it's free it's kinda like a recreational dog friendly park!

I live about 7min from Fiesta Island so my dogs and I are there daily :)

Connie, we will be meeting at Hennessey's at 11:00 and then going down. Should be finished with Brunch about 12:30 and at Fiesta Island at approximately 1:45 - 2:00 P.M. for a couple hours of exploring and watching the sunset over the bay. Don't think our Paws could go much more than a couple of hours without being exhausted.

where is this fiesta island? what time do we meet for breakfast? are we car pooling ? can we follow each other and meet initially in orange county somplace?
can you hand us all a map so we know where to go?

There will be directions from O.C. to Fiesta Island in San Diego with the area of the Island we will be meeting at. It's a relatively large island, there are no restrooms on the island and entire island is off leash for dogs. Follow the map you will get by tomorrow.

there are portopotties around the island, there is no fresh water though so don't forget to bring some for the pups. the fenced in portion is about 90 acres and the rest of the island is also leash free.

It's suppose to rain all this weekend. We really want to go on this trip with everyone so, we are postponing it until later this year on Saturday, May 19th. We know it's a ways off, but we are hoping to have a restaurant in San Diego we can all go to lunch or an evening dinner at on this trip.

There is a very nice restaurant in Ocean Beach which is not too far from Fiesta Island (near the original Dog Beach in San Diego) that is very good. They have a very dog friendly patio, great food, and the name of it is O'Bistro Cafe. They are on 4934 Voltaire St., San Diego and their phone number is 619-223-2202 if you'd like to contact them. We eat there when we take the pups to San Diego dog Beach. (just a suggestion!)

We've been there before and it's great. Old Townd San Diego isn't to far and there was a restuarant there that allowed dogs if you're still looking for a place to eat. The weather in May should be perfect!

DESPERATE PAWS OF ORANGE COUNTY DOG CLUB is a NOT-FOR-PROFIT CLUB designed to get PARENTS and their PAWS out of the house and enjoying life. The club was specifically created to place PARENTS and their PAWS together in fun social activities, while Advocating for Dog Welfare and Adoption.
